1. The 5210 USAR Research and Development Unit (Reinforcement
Training), Davenport, Iowa is a Regular Unit; however, you would
not automatically be classified in the Ready Reinforcement Person-
nel Section (RRPS). You would have to apply for assignment to
RRPS by completing the attached AF Form 1051.

2. The Department of Defense has issued a change to their DOD
Directive 1215.6, 16 January 1965, Subject: Uniform Training
Categories and Pay Groups Within the Reserve Forces. This change
directs that:

a. Personnel assigned to the Nonaffiliated Reserve Section
(WARS) as of 20 April 1965, may continue to earn points, while
So assigned, as long as they meet participation requirements.

b. Personnel reassigned fran a Ready status to NARS between
20 April ami 30 June 1965, may continue to earn points while as-
signed to NARS as long as they meet participation requirements.

c. After 30 June 1965, personnel must be assigned to the
Ready Reinforcement Personnel Section (RPS), a Ready Reserve
unit, or have completed 18 but less than 20 years of satisfactory
Federal service and assigned to NARS, in order to participate and
earn points.

a. Reassignment of personnel in a and/or b above, is not re-
quired on 30 June 1965, but continued participation is required,
‘to remain assigned.

3. In view of the above you are eligible to remain assigned to
NARS, Standby Status, and continue your participation with the

you (to RRPS) or you fail to earn the minimum number of pointe (14)
