As your long and honorable term of service draws to a close, I want you to know that your contribution to the national security of our country is appreciated by the United States Air Force. You may obtain a DD Form 2AF (Retired) (Gray), Armed Forces Identi- fication Card, by presenting your current identification credentials at the nearest Air Force installation with the attached validated AF Form 279, Application for Identification Card, and a copy of your retirement order. Locations of military installations in your area may be found in your local telephone directory under United States Government or through the Directory Assistance Operator of the telephone company in a large city near you. Any of your dependents who are authorized the DD Form 1173, Uniformed Service Identification and Privilege Card, should accom pany you when you obtain your identification card. You must have birth certificates for your children and your marriage certificate to prove dependency for your spouse. If application is to be by mail, contact the Pass and ID Section of that installation for further instructions (Air Force Regulation 30-20, paragraph 9e). Your pay account is being established at the Air Force Accounting and Finance Center (AFAFC/RPT), Denver CO 80279.
