2. AFR! 45-5 and 45-7 proseribe tho procedures to be followed in comput=
ing points for retantion, promotion, and retirement. Gratuitous points granted
for membership in the Active Reserve are creditable only for the purpose of
retirement. You mst carn a mininum of 50 points in a year in order to receive
credit for a year of satisfactory Foderal Sorvice for retirement. Howevor, ro-
gardless of the number of points you carn in a yoar, not more than 60 points for
service other than Active Federal sorvice may be erodited to you for retirement
purposes.
